Chicago – accessible, affordable and super cool. There are so many things to do in Chicago. There are museums, Theatres, The Beam, The Navy Pier and we can go on and on. But we’re here to give you a different list – one that is sure to make you fall in love with the city and wish you lived there.
1. Hike on the 606
The 606 urban hiking trail is the trail to take if you want to explore Chicago. The trail is 2.7 miles long and elevated to showcase neighbourhoods like Logan Square, Bucktown, and Humboldt Park. It runs alongside a railway line and has plenty of places to eat, drink and chill en-route.
2. Chicago’s beaches
Spend a whole day here – the beaches of Chicago are one of the best things to enjoy about the Chicago summer. They’re not too crowded not too less crowded. With a lot of on-site food attractions, it will give you the perfect opportunity to chill, enjoy the view and go for a swim.
3. Check out the museums
Chicago boasts really weird museums where you can find all sorts of weird stuff. There’s a leather museum that exhibits everything bondage, a video game art gallery and even amputation saws and the like in a surgical science museum. Further south, are the best art museums – Stony Island Arts Bank (housed in a historic bank building) and University of Chicago’s Smart Museum of Art.
While doing all of this, find out why Chicago Hot Dogs are the only way to go, explore dive bars and attend some live music concerts.
