The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle on May 6th gave birth to a healthy baby boy, hitting the news once again and causing everyone to rejoice! The boy weighs 7 pounds, 3 oz.
Prince Harry, the father said, “I haven’t been at many births. This is definitely my first birth. It was amazing, absolutely incredible, and, as I said, I’m so incredibly proud of my wife.”
The baby joins the royals in succession to the British Thone, and is current 7th in line, behind his father for the throne. As of now, the name of the baby hasn’t been revealed.
The little princeling is the first British-American royal baby; he is automatically a British citizen, but will have to apply at the U.S. consulate for American citizenship. The little one is also the first biracial baby to be in line for the throne.
In the British royal family today, the throne will pass from Queen Elizabeth II upon her death to her son Prince Charles.
Next in line is Charles’ eldest son, Prince William who is married to Kate, the current Duke of Cambridge.
William and Kate’s eldest child, Prince George, who was born in 2013, will be next in line to inherit the throne.
Following him are his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, next in line to the throne.
Prince Harry, Williams younger brother is sixth in line, followed by the new baby, who will be seventh in line to the throne.
