Face it, we’ve all been curious about Naked Beaches. Here’s a list of the best 5:
1. Black’s Beach, La Jolla, California
Set beneath the 100-meter-high cliffs of Torrey Pines, Blacks has been the Golden State’s favorite place for all-over tans for more than 50 years and was once the only legal nude beach in the entire United States.
Long, wide and blessed with great surf, the beach is reached via the zig-zag Ho Chi Minh Trail from the cliff-top Torrey Pines Gliderport near the University of California, San Diego.
2. Spiaggia di Guvano. Italy
This small shoreline in Corniglia, Italy is a far cry from the Riviera’s tourist-packed beaches, but well worth the short trek through a pitch-black tunnel (don’t forget a flashlight) in the mountainous Cinque Terre region. You’ll be rewarded with an isolated beach populated by naked Italians.
3. Wreck Beach, Canada
Apart from being North America’s largest nude beach, this was also the first beach in Canada to make clothing optional. It’s a beautiful, uninhibited and forested water paradise. Wreck Beach is located on the western end of Vancouver.
4. Es trenc Majorca, Spain
Even amidst the peak summer months you will discover crowd of nude beach guests along the white sandy shores of Es Trenc.
The focal zone of the shoreline (the bare section) has a tendency to be less stifled than the rest. Which means you can appreciate the magnificence of the spot in relative privacy.
5. Little Beach – Maui, Hawaii
Given that every beach on Maui has a distinct following — think moms, surfers, etc. — perhaps it’s not surprising that a gathering of hippies and earthy types have unofficially created this nude beach, meeting up for drum circles and fire dancing on Sunday afternoons. The rest of the week, it’s just a beach, although don’t expect solitude at this well-known hangout.
