This one is for all the adventure junkies – Khardung La literally means “Pass of Lower Castle and is at a height of 18,380 feet from the sea level. Go on a road trip if you dare – pitch a camp, enjoy the pahado wali chai and go crazy clicking picture with fluttering flags, pretty mountains and scenic views.
Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, the highest tea plantation on the Earth
Miles before you reach the estate one can smell the aroma of tea. About 8000 feet above the sea level, it is known for its panoramic views, mountains and flavourful tea. The weather ranges from 20 – 40 degrees making it ideal to visit during winters. Witness the generations old technique of making tea that gives it such a unique taste.
Chail Cricket Ground, the highest cricket ground on the Earth
In the scenic state of Himachal Pradesh, surrounded by chir pine and deodar trees, lies the highest cricket ground. The journey proves to be a hikers favourite. The cricket ground was built in 1893 by levelling a hilltop. Who knows you might also see some of the Test players who visit Chail for practice sessions.
Unfortunately, this ground is not open to first class matches yet. Imagine balls getting lost whenever someone hits a six!
